Winning the mind games explained.
Winning the mind games is designed for the professional or serious amateur sports person. In just three days you will learn techniques and new behaviours that will transform the way you train and compete and as a result take your ability to a completely new level.
How is it possible that some people stayed motivated during training and perform at their best during important competition? Have you experienced a great performance one week only to be frustrated with inconsistency and lack of confidence the next? What are the secrets of consistent peak performance and psychological strength? This and many other questions are answered and put into practise during this three day event
Here is a brief look at what you will learn when you attend this course.
Rapport
Have you worked with an experienced and talented coach but you found it difficult to work with them because they just saw things differently to you. Or maybe you had a team mate who had lots of ability and you would of worked well with but you didnt bond with them. Learning techniques of deep rapport give you a huge advantage. This is so important and too often under esistimated. Once you have rapport the dynamics of working in a team are very different.
Strategies.
For every task we do in our lives we have a strategy. This can be tasks from cleaning your teeth to winning an Olympic gold medal. This becomes very important when we take a strategy that works very well, and implement it into something that we need to improve on. For example if you are performing very well in training but poorly in competition then using the strategy from training and using it in competition is much easier than you may think. Its simple and extremely powerful.
Goal Setting
To know where you want to go you must have a plan on how to get there. Sounds obvious but often over looked. It is essential to have goals and it’s as important that they can and will be achieved. By following a simple guide you will become much more than a goal achieving machine. You will have an organised and achievable plan. This is crucial in modern sport.
Beliefs
Frequently sports men and women are told to have more belief in them selves. The fact is that it is possible to carry on saying this over and over again and have very little affect. All learning is accomplished by working with the unconscious mind. This is the key to creating a cast iron self belief that is lasting when under extreme pressure.
Language
The words we use will
affect the results we get. Listen to interviews of people who have little or no belief in their ability to win an event or match. They tend to use words that indicate that they "may" or perhaps "could" win. Now listen to a consistanly great performer. They will use words and phrases that indicate that they "will" perform and they "have" what it takes to win. This is the very tip of the ice berg and when this segment is mastered yourself belief will change and develop at an alarming rate.
Anchoring
How many times have you listened to a piece of music that instantly takes you to a happy moment in your life? It’s as if you are back reliving the experience. The same can happen when you see someone or something that creates a positive feeling inside you. By using this process it is possible to recreate feelings of confidence, energy, motivation and inner strength when you need them the most. This technique is called anchoring; it literally allows you to install a switch that you can use at any time. How incredible will it feel when competing at an important event and you “switch” yourself to become calm and focussed, or motivated and confident? These are just two examples and the list is endless. If you have a positive state that benefits you during competition, then a switch can be designed so you can have those feelings whenever you need it.
Finally
This is just a brief look at some of the topics covered. The change you will experience is amazing. I believe that there is an incredible amount of talented sports people in the country, and far too often their talent has gone to waste. The majority of the time this is due to psychological barriers. If you are putting in many hours of physical training and not receiving the benefits then you need to make changes. The ability to have more control over your thinking patterns is essential. This is much easier than you may think and it takes just three days.
If you always do what you have always done you will always get what you have already got. In simple terms if you want to improve then you must make changes. Make 2010 the year you decided to create a successful future in your sport.
